About the same distance in the other direction is Piazza Santa Croce, the nightlife and entertainment hub of the city. All other major sights, including the Bargello, Piazza Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio are also a short walk away, easily reachable on foot in 5-10 minutes.
